Fant dette: Is it true that a low-carb diet decreases your physical endurance and makes it harder to work out? I've heard conflicting reports.

A: Interesting question. Here's one way to answer it: A recent study by Phiney took olympic level cyclists and put them on a ketogenic diet. For the first week or two their performance dipped... by the end of the month it was back to their previous olympic level. No one suggests that high level athletes need a ketogenic diet. But it does appear that athletes do not need the level of carbs previously believed (ie. carb loading and so on). Many trainers use slightly higher carb intakes on training days, and drop back down on non-training days. For MOST people, doing reasonable amount of training not at the heavy, athlete level, a LOWER carb diet will do just fine. But again, everyone is different and you have to do what works for you.
