De første 14 dagene bør du unngå selv sukkerfri tyggegummi, da disse også inneholder karbohydrater, - MEN hvis du finner en som er søtet med Xylitol er den helt grei. Kjenner ikke til de nye "flakene", men les på pakken. Husk bare at de ikke skal inneholde karbohydrater !!
For å bli kvitt keto-ånden er det en fordel å drikke mye vann - masse vann. Da tynner du ut ketonene i urinen. Ketostix'en vil være lys på farge, men den forteller uanett ikke om du tar av eller ikke. Du er i ketose for det !

Drinking plenty of water helps dilute the concentration of ketones. Parsley, too, is a natural breath freshener as is oil of peppermint drops available at health food stores. (Read the label to ensure that it contains no sugar.) Chewing fresh parsley or taking capsules such as Breath-a-Sure, which can be found in any health food or drug store, also will help. As long as you drink enough water, the bad breath caused by ketosis usually lasts only a few weeks.
We discourage the use of most breath mints while doing Atkins because they may contain either sugar or artificial sweeteners. Even so-called "sugar-free" products are often full of carbs. However, we do recommend sugar free mints and gum which are sweetened with Xylitol and have 0 carbs per serving.
